In a bit of an argument with myself over this

So important exams coming up soon, and after that my school is having a trip to Italy, a country that I love to be in, the vibe is just brilliant.
My parents are stressing the importance of this exam to me as it will literally make the difference between good life and shit McDonalds worker life.
My current money influx is quite rapid, as I'm in that sweetspot of being a teenager with nothing to pay for but having a job that is 2.25x average wage at my age
I really want neither life, jobs and the idea of slaving away for the rest of my time on earth legitimately scares me, so I've been getting the urge to run away once I get to Italy. I'm old enough to book a flight to America which is where I want to end up.
Once I have the money I might do that anyway.
Should I take the plunge? No way of knowing how it will play out.
