What the fuck went so wrong with the job market?
Why is employment such a fucking mess?
The fastest growing market is fast food and that isn't viable employment for one.

College education has gradually become worthless, aiming to only rob people of their money. Most employers won't consider any new prospects that isn't at least Masters prepared, often only hiring those with experience. Going so far so as to not hiring anyone UNTIL someone with experience shows up. And this is happening to people with STEM degrees!

Vocational/trade employment is in a niggardly state too. Its common for the masters/guild to withhold evaluations for years to keep journeymen from advancing, all because this would introduce competition. Then there's the shit reality that apprentices are really the only people being hired and because there's so many, their wages are tanking as they compete for positions and hours. This is further compounded by foreigners just learning enough to undercut actual businesses/licensed people with shoddy work.

Lets mention nepotism. Nepotism has always been a thing, but the past 20 years it has gotten worse. You know its a shit market when you have to know someone just to get an interview.

And yes, I'm omitting outsourcing because that is a nightmare unto itself.
