>>797948I see threads like these often, and they repeat themselves too, so here are some common points where they are all wrong.
1) It's ultimately impossible to proof if god does not exist. But, there is no clear evidence that he does, neither, and the bible has been proven wrong on too many occasions, like age of the world, Sun orbiting Earth, etc. So using basic common sense, it's logical to imply that god does not exist, as well as any other /x/ thing with no evidence.
2) Believe it or not, consciousness is liquids in your body and nerve impulses in your brain. It formed as a result of 4 billion years of natural evolution. See pic. But—it doesn't necessarily prove there is no god; because if he is indeed almighty, than it means it was all his will.
Lastly, I think the whole argument boils down to this.
In the West we live in free society which allows people to believe what they want, and respects people's religion. This is where fedora atheists are fundamentally wrong to attack others.
But, it's important to remember that science was the reason for our high standard of life. Today's medicine is based on biology and thus evolution too. Electricity, nukes, computers—all of this came from principles that ultimately contradict bible.
So if you want to ban evolution theory and enforce belief that Earth is 5000 years old, you're ultimately on a road to rob humanity of this level of life. This is ultimately harmful for everyone, undermining our security as people. And if you still think it's a good idea—quit society and live as a separate community like Amish.
