Do people often get the wrong impression of you?

>he says you don't look the type
>be me, I like horror movies too
>I still don't look the type, he said I look too "Normal"
What did he mean by this?
I often dress in sports clothes, or sometimes a sports vest after working out at the gym, I'm quite muscular but don't understand why he said I don't look the type.
