The fact the subtances are illegal with well conducted studies few and far between makes research on how they effevt people difficult but what little solid information there is indicates it's a very mixed bag.
Not totally related as it's not strictly speaking a psychedelic, though it does have psychedelic properties, when it comes to Marijuana even some of the leading researchers in the field who are among the biggest advocates for it's beneficial uses often caution against it's recreational use as the full extent of it's effects are still poorly understood.
