Also, you can not base your level of happiness upon others, not to be rude, its kinda stupid... for many reasons like you can't directly influence people and forgetting the fact that your life is and should be about yourself, you need to make yourself happy by your doings not by doings of others.
I hope it makes at least a bit of sense.
I also had this kind of mentality but abolished it years ago, finding it unfulfilling
