>>8057561This guy MervueMeringue made these videos of countries talking and invading each other in 2008. Think a paracuck timelapse with dialogue and "plot".
After some years some people got inspired and did their own series' and Mervue had (unknowingly) started a niche genre. 99Batran, Ethan and TheJarJar99 were among the first ones and they molded the typical tropes of mapping.
With a wiki the niche grew and there was a lot of creativity, fun stories but also some drama and wiki raids. But it was comfy.
But there's a problem with mappers as they either post a fuckton or post once a year or so, and many old fags have left due to life and lack of interest. Some say that mapping has been ruined by Polandballs, and some feel that animated mapping has put the bar too high.
However those who continued are amassing considerable views of ten thousands, which is nice. I think it might enter the "mainstream" with the help of Polandball and skilled mappers.
Then there are these videomappers who do historical shit like Emperor Tigerstar and Ollie Bye. They can get millions of views since they appeal to education.
