It was Holy because its government constituted the secular branch of the church. The emperor was the head of Christendom, the defender of the church.
It was Roman because of the doctrine of imperial transference, which the Christians of the time believed to be eternal order of society. The imperial title, they believed, flowed from the ancient Babylonian empire and would continue until the return of Christ. They believed that the Roman Empire was the final kingdom mentioned in the Book of Daniel, and that the government of Charlemagne was the continuation of that imperial structure, as ordained by the Pope. Not to mention it literally controlled Rome for centuries.
And it was an Empire because it had an emperor. For centuries, the emperor was the most powerful authority in Europe. He appointed kings. He was the leader of the Europeans, and his territory spanned multiple countries and ethnic groups.
Voltaire was a faggot who saw the empire in its final stage. It lasted ONE THOUSAND YEARS and this cunt has everyone giggling that it was a joke of an empire just because he saw it on its last legs. Of course, with age, it began to wither. But for most of its life, it was glorious.
