Ever since I properly decided to learn German, my mother tongue (English) has begun to sometimes sound foreign to my ears.

For example: I was watching a UK documentary 15 mins ago and I literally thought they were speaking Dutch until my brain finally corrected itself.

What the fuck is going on?
