Using thugs and gang violence as a mask for silencing the 'inconvienient' isn't below the current circle of vultures. If not, they use the broken laws as their last defense; the stupid libel laws. We had a radio personality called Chrissy Love who had to flee to the US because she had the gall to accuse one of the ministers by name, despite her even citing clear evidence of their corruption. At this point, all they have to do is say it's fake or fabricated, and the legal system will just launch a half assed investigation and come up with some bullshit story to silence the masses, but just a bit of poking shows the things they sweep under the rug.
See, everything you do leaves some kind of record. Fingerprints, network logs, chat logs, good old fashioned misappropriation of funds... It's not too hard to put two and two together if you can find two and two to begin with. And these idiots leave their dirty laundry knocking about, out of equal parts laziness and ignorance.
