>>8136999well say ur playing an rpg and need to convince someone to help u with something. if ur playing a video game it just has to be a stat check or maybe some dialog game. with a tabletop game since someone is "playing" the npc u can just provide a convincing enough reason for them to help u. those sort of elements make it worthwhile to play rpgs in a tabletop setting even though u need to spend time memorizing rules
tabletop games with no rng tend to be player versus player so there aren't any elements that could be argued or are decided by a third party otherwise they'd be unfair. since there's nothing that needs to be decided that isn't strictly in the rulebook there's no reason these sorts of games can't just be video games where you don't need to know all the rules intimately to play
