>>8139336the short version is that we ended up in a 4v5 arena fight with what's essentially a rival party built using player rules. the DM was excited to essentially play 4 characters against us playing one each, but we immediately put 2 to sleep with a spell. i then used a spell the on the less powerful of the two that were left to force him to walk out of the arena which made him immediately forfeit and then we dogpiled the last guy 1v5 before waking up the other 2 and telling them it's probably best to surrender at that point
we also found a way to abuse the rules a little bit. the person who does the most damage in the party is our rogue because there's a mechanic called sneak attack that makes them do stupid amounts of damage when certain conditions are met once a turn. the conditions aren't that hard to meet, but it usually means that giving buffs to a rogue don't actually mean anything since there's no way to buff sneak attack damage and it specifically says you can only sneak attack once per turn. the trick is that you can use your action to "hold an action" and basically say "if X happens i'll Y" and then if X happens on someone else's turn you can do Y even if it isn't your turn. so i cast a buff on the rogue that let him take 2 actions, then he used his first action to hit someone with sneak attack and then used his second action to hold an action to hit someone if some condition that will always be true is met. ie "if there's air around me i'll hit this guy." that way as soon as his turn ended the condition was met and he could attack with the action he held, but it was now it was technically a new turn so he get sneak attack damage again
it's kind of a convoluted explanation, but just trust that it's both really silly and stupidly strong
>>8139363no it's good
>>8139375i'll most likely spend most of the day playing games, there's only like an hour of footage left to watch even if i decide to do all of it
