I know this game is super obscure but I’m 90% sure it actually exists, not just a fever dream. I remember as a kid being really freaked out about this history game that I think my nan bought me. I remember that the first place you arrived in was this house type thing and you were greeted by this time travelling alien type thing, thin, lanky, weird shaped head, leathery skin. This was a 2D game, no walking around or anything, just scrolling left and right. It was about time travelling and you could pick a picture of an era from this notice board type thing and the alien would follow you, dressed in the clothes of that era. I specifically remember Ancient Rome and Ancient Egypt. You could scroll to a certain extent across the landscape and click specific places of interest to learn more. These alien things had really weird animations with lots of body language and odd ways of speaking. It really creeped out younger me.
