There's a town in my Ohio called Vienna but everyone pronounces it VYE-en-ah because they are morons.
There is a city in Missouri called Rolla and it is pronounced Rah-lah, pretty much as it's spelled. But it was named after Raleigh, NC, which was named after Sir Walter Raleigh. But they pronounced it rolla so that's how they spelled it.
My point is, you are never gonna beat Americans when it comes to stupidity.
