In the previous episode of the Super Mario Show, when it seemed Bowser tried, unsuccessfully, to have Luigi killed off, the audience responded with a roar; they cheered a character attempting to murder them off. It later became an official trend among fans, because in later installments of the show, Luigi would try to have people kill him off in the background; after Luigi died at the end of the last episode of the show, the scene was deleted.
