>>8246718it's certainly a possibility. i think it has a lot of similar qualities that make for mass appeal like engagement from start to finish, games having sort of a narrative arc you can talk to your firends about, and enough randomness that even bad players can have really good games but not so much that games feel hopeless most of the time.
i also think there's room for plenty of monetization in skins for units and whatnot that hasn't been capitalized on yet so especially once that gets going i can see a lot of companies jumping on pumping them out.
the vital thing i think is missing currently though is that it's not a good group activity. a lot of BRs success comes from the fact people can squad up with their friends or whatever, but so far auto chess is 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 so you can't really play with your friends outside of them being in the pool of opponents especially since it's unlikely someone has 7 friends sitting around to play with at a given moment.
it might get big despite this, but i think as far as getting hugely popular like the big fads do someone will probably have to find out how to make a team game mode happen
