Lifting itself doesn't do much. What is really impactful is implementing progression, getting into powerlifting or Olympic weightlifting. The really important thing is it will force you to improve your posture - it's impossible to squat or deadlift decent numbers with your pelvis out of whack nor can you bench or press well without scapular control. Now add shallow diaphragmatic breathing like you need under the bar and basics of diet you need to master to progress in weights and you're set. physical attractiveness, work ethics and community come as bonus. All of this can be achieved via other means, but this is the basic template that WORKS. I fixed my mood disorders this way (where years of therapy didn't do shit) and can recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel like reinventing the wheel
