Pretending that differences in aptitudes don't exist, and that the other differences don't matter, doesn't help. In fact it makes it worse.
Equality is a pipe dream, bought on by it being the most obvious conceivable proof of the virtue that should be pursued instead: FAIRNESS.
I still maintain that nobody should judge an individual by anything except their actions, and if their actions are unknown you shouldn't prejudge them at all.
But if you still insist on equality, here's how to get it. Kill everyone, with no exceptions. Then there's no differences between the multicolored blobs of meat covering the ground, so you achieve all forms of equality at once. Isn't that great?
