Both are good options and no it's not a meme. It just requires a lot of work and willingness to learn about shit you know nothing about that is integral to how our society functions.
The basic things you take for granted in daily life will now be trivial and the things you do know about will make you look like a wizard to other people.

if so, start Actually usign your uni's resources like tutoring and set a schedule for study and stick to it.
Being a tradie may earn you similar money but you'll be working a lot harder and it'll take its toll on your body
