Something similar happened to me last week.

Had to install a fresh version of Windows.
If you have a repair disk you could be saved. I on the other hand didn't have 1.

Install Windows on a different hard drive.
Just copy all your files from 1 hard drive to the other. You're just missing a booster.

Probably not, the HDD will be fine & only the os will be corrupt. You can connect it up as a slave device with some rescue software. If it's SSD then odds lower.
