The NZ labour party, of which ardern is the leader, proposed a plan called 'kiwibuild' to combat the housing crisis that is currently going on here. Basically, the cost of housing is going through the roof because the demand for housing just keeps rising faster than the number of houses being built.
About a year ago, she promised to have built 1000 new homes via the 'kiwibuild' scheme by this time this year. But if you take a look at the following link, which tracks the number of houses that have actually been built:
