can someone please explain to me why people will go above and beyond to save a dog or any other pet? i wouldve put this dog down for its own good, i dont want it to suffer from back pain. instead, dog got custom made prosthetic legs

why? because people treat animals, especially pets better than themselves. It doesn't even have to be their pet, so its not about sentiment like other anon said. this is due to deep psychological issues revolving around self esteem. Ever seen a pet owner that's clearly unhealthy/ negligent of their own health yet their dog is on grade AAA natural food and has dentist/vet apts every other week?
