Small parts of the straw does come loose over time and that has to be cleaned up, and during the humid months you must be careful not to let them get damp from the air, or if you spill something make sure to soak it up right away and focus a fan over it to dry out.
They're comfy though and they don't creak like bare wood when you step on them.
