>>8538936I used to play in tournaments but I wasn't very good. Ended up selling all my cards. Tried getting back into it because I had a group of friends in high school who played. I don't talk to any of them anymore. I think I gave away all my cards.
Then I discovered magic. Honestly, the main reason I've spent so much money on it is because I don't buy singles like you're supposed to. I buy packs and repacks from my LGS and those mystery cubes and stuff because I like finding cool cards I've never heard of before and trying to make use of them in commander.
I'm well aware the mystery cubes are the biggest scam in magic the gathering, but I enjoy the old duel decks they throw in them now. There's a common in one of them that I bought that's worth like $6, so that's something I guess.
