Is there anything more wonderful than the ability to imagine? Anything you want -- you can have. Consciousness exists separately from reality. Thus, the only distinction between fiction and reality that matters to the conscience is that the latter is perhaps infinitely more vivid. It feels real.

But imagination gives you more freedom likewise. We all spend most of our time in reality and less of it in our imagination. No rational being would choose substance over freedom. Why is it, then, that we do? You can blame evolution and natural selection -- sure -- but are we not intelligent enough to overcome that? It must be that we lack true consciousness.
