Is it just me or are games getting so easy that you don't even have to think to play through them? And then when you bump up the difficult, it's so untested that it's on the other side of the equation, difficult enough to be boring?

I suspect this is just like with school getting too dumb down and everyone want a participation trophy. The moment you're guaranteed to win, it stops being fun.
