>>8587915>I dont think you realise what a terrible spot the soviets were in after the war..I do, but Allied forces in Western Europe were seriously lacking in numbers, the endless supplies and industrial capacity of the US would have mattered little if the forces already available in Europe couldn't last long enough for reinforcements to arrive (and considering the population of the UK and the US were already weary of war, justifying the start of another war immediately after you just finished the last one would have been difficult).
