I think the idea of it was alright, but nobody could've predicted what would become of Gamergaters after the movement ended. I remember around 2011 - 2013 how loud the "girls can play games too!" crowd were becoming and I'm glad there was an attempt to shut those idiots up, because it was needlessly accusatory and combative.
