>>8597145depends on your perspective i suppose. there's all sorts of band stereotypes that i've found to be surprisingly accurate throughout my years. sax players are typically considered to have all the egotistic showmanship of trumpet players with all the zany, stupid antics of trombone players
honestly i just played bari sax so that i could blast foghorn sounds with reckless abandon since we were severely lacking in low voices and you gotta play pretty loud for marching anyway. they had me hanging out and practicing with the tubas just as much as the other saxophones most years.
the real cool stuff was playing the contrabass clarinet during concert season of my sophomore year. it was a huge pain to move around for concerts and stuff but man did it make me feel special. i even got my own high chair that staff would move around with all the big percussion.
