I don't think the problem is the fight itself is how Bruce was depicted. A lot of people close to him are pretty angry Tarantino made him look like an asshole. What I find funny is Tarantino defended it like he's old enough to have known Bruce personally and seen it himself. But I also hate that fucker, so any hate or backlash he gets for his pretentious movies is fine by me.

White belt is very far fetched, but yeah on the street there are no rules. And Bruce's Jeet Kun Do was designed around being a counter to martial arts that were so focused on rehearsed, situational moves and strikes. But it's a very old debate. What we do know about Bruce is he trained under some notable names in martial arts, but there isn't a lot of footage of his tournament outings.

That's what was supposedly so impressive about him. There's footage of his one inch punch knocking someone through and over a chair. I guess you could debate the authenticity of it. But speed and technique in fighting are supreme. Mike Tyson was short and light for the heavyweight division, but he unified the titles at 18.

Tarantino loves Bruce Lee, and beating a small Asian guy in a fight isn't remotely impossible regardless of how good they are at fighting. A significantly bigger guy who also knows how to fight would be able to beat him.

You retard, JKD was not a "counter" for martial arts, it was the very foundation of the concept of MMA

Read one of Bruce's books. It's all about not following any rules and fighting dirty to win by any means necessary, and using only the best most efficient moves from every fighting discipline such as boxing, wrestling, karate, etc.

Bruce lee even says in his biography that his fighting style is not the best style. As really it just takes someone to learn how to counter it in order to beat it.

Just wait a month or two. YTS will probably have it for torrent by then. You won't miss out on anything, but it's a fun enough movie. The plot is basically about nothing so it's like you're watching Seinfeld. DiCaprio and Pitt delivered a kino performance.

People are taking this scene out of context anyway. For those who haven't watched the movie, Brad Pitt's character, Cliff, is daydreaming this scene while fixing a TV antenna for Leo's character, Rick. Even in Tarantino's fictional portrayal of Hollywood, this fight doesn't actually happen. If anything, it's a comment on the hubris of Cliff (even though he does back up his fighting ability later in the movie).
