well the big problem is that a lot of the most popular streamers have been very vocal about wanting classic for years. they're also the kind of people who might actually end up enjoying it which is fine, but it's also lead to a bunch of their fans (many of whom didn't even play the content when it was current) started to get the idea that classic was just objectively better so they started yelling about it too
don't get me wrong, i really hope classic is good, plan on giving it a whirl, and think it will have a long term playerbase that actually will enjoy it thoroughly with or without nostalgia. i just believe that 75% of the people who think it will appeal to them won't like it at all after nostalgia glasses fall off.
