Don't worry about the ip hamachi shows you when you connect, it's a vpn, and so will be the one you see as the other person's ip. After organizing and debugging that, you're going to have to install sokuroll, which is explained in detail on the game's wiki:

As for gameplay: find a cheap trick and cheese it. No one wins on that game playing skillfully. Personally I spam fireballs as my wife because there's nowhere on the screen to escape from them, but that's just one trick.
