Went through a breakup sunday before last and the loneliness is only hitting now.
I don't want to be in a relationship but I just want friendship and a shoulder to cry on, and the person I was with was the closest I've been with anyone in years
It hurts so fucking bad, /bant/. What do I do?

These things always feel worse in the moment.
You'll eventually get over it.
Try to take your mind off it by doing other things, ideally productive things that work towards your benefit.

Also I am sure you are capable of making a good friend if that is your desire.
So take some time, make good decisions and move forward with your goals, social and otherwise.

Not much else you can do.

It's kinda like training - you will see almost no instant benefits, but if you make it a long-term habit, it'll help. The best thing it did for me was making me understand myself better. Like where some feelings come from and what I can do to keep them from arising in the future. I can change myself easier thanks to becoming slightly more introspective
