If you like the kind of game tes'es are, then yeah, it's the best one by far. You'll just have to bear through the combat system being more paper-rpg-like, in that you can't fucking hit anything at the start of the game, but it's a problem only in the beggining. Vardenfell is much more interesting a place than both Imperial Province in Oblivion (your usual fantasy look) or Skyrim in Skyrim (your usual ancient vikangs), it's much more fun to explore it, I find and I think that's a big part of the appeal of the series in whole. There are some huge graphic overhaul mods out there if you have a problem with that too. I'm not a big fan of the series, but if I were to choose one of them, I'd certainly go with Morrowind.

The interaction with NPCs takes some time to get used to too, but it's really not that bad. Go give it a try mate.
One more tip, if you're not a minmaxer, don't go looking for guides on classes etc. The system is gamey and you can exploit it so that you have the character with maxed out everything, but it's just not as fun, at least if you're not into that kind of thing. Your call in the end. Have fun!

Yes. If you didn't play it when it came out keep in mind it's a very old game with a different style. There's some mods you can use to make it look less like hot garbage but the main thing that turns people away is that most of it isn't voiced so you'll be reading. A lot. You'll have to pay attention and have a map of Morrowind as waypoints are non-existent. Never hurt me to have a notebook too. If you're not in it for a more tabletop style RPG then you'll have a bad time.

Better than TES. Gothic was a big thing here in central-eastern Europe, never took off elsewhere though. It's a great game, go give it a try. Controls are a little wonky, but again, it's something you get used to.
