>>8645221Anime gets a bad wrap because of the overwhelming amount of utter garbage pumped out constantly into the medium. There are good ones, but they are rare.
The thing is, that rule applies to literally all forms of media; the difference is the genius marketing teams in Japan still manage to get people interested in the garbage.
One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 are in some ways parodies of stale anime trends. If you recognize the problems that exist in the industry, you may enjoy their mockery of it. Kill La Kill also serves as a sort of parody, but I think it would be less to your liking.
One of my favorites is Parasyte - The Maxim. Kind of a dark offshoot of the superhero genre. Death note would similarly be a favorite if the final acts weren't so boring
Megalobox may fit your testosterone filled ideal. The show has heart, but I didn't find it to be anything groundbreaking. Above average, but not a masterpiece by any means. It gained massive attention for a very short time and then people forgot about it.
I think you should keep an open mind. If you're really that worried about becoming a tranny, then you may already be one deep down. It's not normal to have such fragile masculinity. A real man isn't intimidated by strong women and cartoon shows.
I've heard good things about Akagi and Kaiji. They've been on my list for years but I never found the time.
