They aren't the same thing. Libertarianism has specific political believes and goals. Liberalism is a basic belief shared among the majority of people in the free world on both sides of the political spectrum. Plus, there is two types of liberalism but only one type of libertarianism.

almost. libertarianism is on the right and liberalism is on the left. the left wants to support workers and the right wants to support industries. they agree on many things but not the economy and how to handle finance. they're almost polar opposites when it comes to that
