It's the easiest website to browse on the www. Simple design, no superfluous bullshit. Click post and there's no charging time. No account to create ... Every time I try thinking about making a forum simple to use, I can't find idea to rivalize with this. Only way would be a flash blank page where you can type random shit where you want, something like the drawball.

I forget people are new and weren't here before the built in extension was added. This site is basically unusable without the built in extension or user scripts. The idea that you have to click on a post number to respond is retarded. The idea that creating a thread doesn't automatically take you to the newly created thread or open it in a new window is retarded. He's talking about a few years ago. Up until a few years ago, "noko" was disabled by default, so if you posted in a thread and wanted to stay in it, you had to put "noko" in the options field - except the options field was called the email field.

This kept a lot of fig newtons away because like >>87876 says, it was almost impossible to find a thread you made or replied to if you didn't noko it on faster boards like /a/ and /b/.

Yeah, 4chan has an "inline extension" now. Has for a few years, maybe since 2011, 2012. I don't remember, exactly, when it was implemented.

To the right of the board list at the top of the page, there's a [Settings] button. That will let you configure it, or disable it.

If you want an old school browsing experience, switch your theme to Futaba/Burichan (for pink/blue boards respectively), disable the inline extension, put "nonoko" in the options field, then go to https://4chan.org/frames

I remember my first year of college, my roommate was trying to become a internet meme lord or some shit, and he announced to me, "I'm finally going to go on 4chan," pulled up /b/, found a thread he wanted to reply to and said, "I can't post, I don't have an account."

He thought the "name" and "email" fields for the reply was for registration. Never corrected him and watched him fuck off from 4chan for a few years. I guess he figured out how to use it have the inline extension was implemented because now he's a /pol/lack.

He actually posts on screencaps of /pol/ threads and screencaps of his reddit comments that get upboats on facebook.
