you see man and wolf became genetic friends, a symbiosis.
while man has the intellect to do what he pleases, a dog will die for you as long as it understands how to do it.
it doesn't matter, another animal goes in for the bite, and even if the bite isn't dangerous or anywhere near lethal to you, your dog is ready to die to protect you without question.
it doesn't ponder, it doesn't think at all, it fights for you more than it fights for it's own life.
if you don't give him bandages, it won't ask. it will assume you don't have enough to spare and will die beside you, guarding to the last second.
a cat, just look in their eyes, you can see the selfishness and the "these people are retards, but why would I leave free food?" face as clear as day, almost like it wants me to know.
not that I don't like them, but why would you take them as a pet? it doesn't care for you, it's just there to look good for you sick sick people.

I was thinking the same thing honestly. Cats don't really matter to me as a human, after all dogs and humans were meant to be with each other.
Cats on the other hand are just independent company. Might be better for some folks, but overall they don't do much besides kill birds and mice.
