How come every country gets their own flag but the UK which is comprised of 4 countries has to use the union jack?

the problem is if every country gets their own flag then England, Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland should each have their own flags not be lumped under a collective flag

I meant on this site why is each country not represented individually. If the rules are that each country gets its own flag then each country in the UK should have its own flag when posting.
