>>8822284well we played the first session of that new campaign saturday. it went really well, i like the setting, i like the group dynamic, i like the personality of my new character and being a halberd-wielding warlock is going even better than i expected for the most part. at some point we killed someone spooky and they had a really fancy flail on them. since i'm the only one who can use martial weapons i pocketed it and move on.
well after taking care of our business our characters had a week of downtime so i figured it would be worth it to go get the flail identified since it's obviously magical and i'm the only one in the party with a stable income so money isn't a huge issue. turns out it's a +2 weapon with an extra 4d6 damage that also imposes disadvantage.
of course this is great news because that's actually absurd and i'm going to barrel over everything now but it's also sad because now the whole halberd plan is kind of dead in the water since it's not nearly as good as just using the flail even with all the added utility. extra points for the fact that now i'll have a feat that's essentially worthless because it only works when i'm wielding a polearm
