At least concerning American Haredim, they tend to prefer to speak Yiddish versus Hebrew, which many regard as corrupted by un-holy foreign influences, the way it is spoken by most people in Israel today. The Modern Hebrew language has acquired quite a number of loan words, and even Arabic influences, compared to the original Biblical Hebrew. I consider it basically the same language, plus modern adaptations for more words.
