>>8828155last friday, right before Octoberfest I was getting out of my car at the university parking lot.
>using a razor scooter, no brake pads so if you're going down a hill its important to know how to roll when you run into a rock on the shitty streets there (scooter and skateboard impacts are notorious for concussion injuries here)>going down a hill (enough for a parking brake kind of hill), friction brakes are already maxed out ~10-15 mph on my endincomes distracted driver, who easily should have seen me, looking for parking spots, found one in next row so he's going 20-30 in a 10 to claim it.
>he finally sees me, at his speed could have gone past, but he stops short.>I cant bail, between two cars in the lot>move handlebars to the right to try to dodge car if he can stop on time>run into moving car right between the mirror and the front tire, right handlebar impacts right under my left lung/ spleen area, body tumbles over the front of the car mid-bail, left arm hits the edge of the scooter and I fall on my right sholder in front of the now stopped car>big scraped bruise on left arm, felt like I was punched in the gut diaphragm spasm, big paintball-like welt there after being checkedI was able to stand up on my own and get a check up on the gut impact (no xray needed, passed concussion test and somehow didnt impact head), by the end of the day the left arm was fine and after a few painkillers, the left shoulder was fine by the next day. spleen was safe, big bruise the next day, but not as bad as wisdom tooth pain I saved the painkillers from, by 3 the next day I could get out of bed and drive to octoberfest, only could sit reclined if I wanted to breathe tho.
I still dont know how I drove myself home though, all I got was an icepack and Tylenol from the campus health center (which I had to pay out of pocket for wasting an hour in a waiting room because the physician was out for lunch and the assistant physician had to treat a bike-skateboard impact.)
