i just used mozzarella since that's what i have but i think i need something more flavorful since it mostly just tasted like hot dogs. fortunately my mom was around to recommend that i broil instead of bake them so that the cheese would cook faster and get more texture
i felt a little oppressed when the lady at the store asked me about all the hot dogs i was buying. it wasn't her asking that was the problem, but when i explained to her the situation the look in her eyes told me that she definitely thought i got high, thought up the idea, and was trying to pass it off as a foreign recipe
