An atheist defined as "person who doesn't believe in a demiurge-like creator of the universe" may believe pretty much anything.
Honestly, religions can have a point in that they claim there exist things non-material, but the idea of an only creator of the physical universe is a crock of shit. It's Saturnian mythology 2.0. Christians, Muslims, Jews and all other similar sects are Saturn worshippers and they don't even know it.
Not that Saturn isn't a badass god though. But the modern forms of its religion are used with the purpose to spread weakness among the people.
