Back then, people straight up were still learning the basics of operating a computer, if they could even do that.
But to most people, getting started browsing the internet came before learning how to use the computer itself.
Fixing computers actually meant something.
It wasn't something an average 10 year old could do.
Virus protection was less common.
Even the concept of what a virus was or was capable of was still in its infancy.
Hard drive space was minimal,
meaning everything was in small form.
Not too big of a deal since everybody had CRT monitors with 640x480 or 800x600.
And 1024x768 was a luxury.
Pictures were all jpegs and gifs.
Long videos were almost non existent.
Everything rapidly changed when cable internet was released to the general public.
