The art of mindraping is a very hard one to master and more to adeptly control, if you don't try hard enough, your victim would expulse you from their thoughts, add too much force in your probing and you may cause a rampage inside their mind, which sounds enticing but it's not recommended to do for a proffesional job.
Minds are like colourful houses, multiple layers with more complextion in each one. You should earn first the trust of the host to gain access to the actual sensitive parts that can alter substantially their mindset. Ramming wildly against an alerted mind is usually fruitless unless you've a considerable psychic force, but then the process of brainwashing would also be extremely traumatizing for the brain and that leads to create permanent (most of the time) undesired secondary effects.
Moreso, reconstructing brain connections or modifying neuronal networks is what most psychic manipulators fail to do so, there will always be "leaks" on them, no doubt about that, but it's frequent for psychics to take for granted the possibility that their victim can become aware that something isn't right when they skim through their fake memories and find so many inconsistencies with their "lives".
The general advice to reduce your risks of failure? Find a weak one, appear friendly to them, do your proper R&D with your target, compensate their insecurities with your smile and only yours, make you the solution for their problems... and voila! He or she won't hesitate to lay on the ground and allow you to check their head or whatever lame excuse you come with to fuck their head.
Please, don't be so imprudent once inside as the fabrics of the mind resent too and don't do something stupid as "DELET EVERYTHING" because you feel like it, that never accomplishs anything but make the reconstruction more difficult or ruin what could have been good mindslave.
