I like Touhou because opposed to corporate products like gacha games, it has soul and so called "doujin spirit". It's free of sexualized characters aimed at average weeaboo cumbrain, and instead portrays its characters in a graceful way, living in a mystical land full of magic and mystery. ZUN could probably become a billionaire if he let any famous anime studio make a Touhou anime, but he won't, because it would be against doujin spirit.
This is why Touhou is based. It's a work of love, not money.
