>>901567>So what do you do in a typical day of being a physicist? In my case I go to work (still Uni, not industry), either trying to get to run some Cryostats/modifying them for certain experimental needs, develop/produce/test certain microchips in a cleanroom, go to lots of fucking meeting/conferences, organize conferences myself and tutor other bachelor/master students.
>Any good rebuttals for flat earthers stating that the curvature models are completely wrong and gravity is akin to buoyancy?Well I have not looked into the flat earth stuff so I don't know the specifics of their "arguments". So far I'm at "these people are fkn retarded". First thing that comes to my mind would be: how do they disprove the space-time curvature in regards to experiments performed in space, i.e. the ones experiencing less gravity, changing the results to a degree we can measure (for instance electron-transition resonance frequencies). I think in their model, everything accelerates the same in a certain way, correct? That would mean the experiment sitting in space on a static orbit would experience the same amount of acceleration, hence the experimental results would not differ.... wait, how the fuck to the flat earthes then explain zero gravity in the first place? Because with accelation being zero, i.e. no "flat earth gravity", it would mean your distance to earth would increase, hence no static orbit possible. Wtf are these people on?
