Why is gore such a taboo?

Why is gore banned even when it relates to the subject at hand?

Most recent social media scandal in Finland revolves around a girl who jokingly put her pet dog in a microwave and made a "hot dog" out of it.

The dog was barely for a second there but normies still went fucking apeshit because of it. They even flood places like ylilauta with this shit, as if it would be something shocking or appalling.

To put things in perspective, I started posting Chinese dog videos (you know what I'm talking about) and got banned instantly by a sand vagged dog loving jannie.

But it got me thinking: why is gore such a taboo in general? No matter if it is animal violence, human gore or the like, the media doesn't show pictures and sometimes they don't even tell the whole story of what really happened, like with the French priest being decapitated in his church by an islamist a while back. Why is gore banned? Should it be allowed and how would it affect the society in that case?

I made this topic just a while ago and it got deleted. Does this mean that gore is not tolerated on /pol/ or that the subject isn't considered as political enough?

>Off-topic; all images, debate, and discussion should be related to politics and current events. Off-topic threads should be posted on /bant/.

This is fucking political, isn't it? Should we sugar coat issues, be it treatment of animals, terrorism, war, or show people the raw and horrible truth about the issues being talked about, that's the discussion I'm trying foster here. The Finnish dog video I'm talking about wouldn't even be a problem in a place like China. Hell, the most horrible dog videos available in China probably wouldn't even make Chinese flinch.
