Saw this error coin and thought it was interesting.

Was going to post this in /pol/ but they've carpet bombed my IP range and I can't be fucked using a proxy.

I’m not sure if there are any at this hour but from what I just looked up online it seems to be a left over from an old Nigerian flag that was put on their money from when the Brits took over to distinguish Nigerian money from their own. As to why it’s that symbol in the first place, it was either cultural diffusion or the pentagram was just an original flag

Nigeria didn't have a flag prior to 1916. Modern Nigeria wasn't even unified til 1914. The flag of the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria was introduced with the Seal of Solomon, as pointed out by >>9028980

Sir Frederick Lugard claims he chose the seal due to the presence of Igbo Jews...but their numbers and significance is of (((heated debate))). They were very much a minority.

Pre-unification had heavy Islam influence for many years, and their texts say Solomon was a cool guy all round. Maybe.
